Iranian ‘Golnesa’ grabs 3 awards at the Goddess on the Throne Int'l Film Festival in Kosovo.

Iranian feature ‘Golnesa’, directed by Sattar Chamani-Gol, has grabbed three awards at the 13th edition of the Goddess on the Throne International Film Festival in Kosovo.

According to Iranian media reports, ‘Golnesa’ received the best film and best director awards at the event.

‘Golnesa’ stars, Yeganeh Rajabi and Alimohammad Radmanesh, also shared the festival’s best acting award.

Written by Vida Salehi, the film tells the story of Golmammad and Golnesa, illegal Afghan migrants, who are working in a traditional brick-making kiln in Iran.

Following specific incidents, the young couple’s lives undergo certain changes.

‘Golnesa’ has so far gone on screen at more than 30 international festivals and received 18 awards, including the Best Feature Film at the Global Nonviolent Film Festival in the US.

This year’s edition of the Goddess on the Throne film festival was held online due to the coronavirus pandemic on October 30- November 2.
